The 8th IeSF World Championship 2016 Jakarta reaches the Final Rounds
On the third day of the tournament, the IeSF World Championship 2016 Jakarta has completed playing most of the matches, leaving only the final for HearthStone, Counter Strike: Global Offensive, and League of Legends.
Starting from 10:00 local time, all match schedules were resumed. Completing all the group preliminary matches on the other day, HearthStone was the first game title to proceed to the semi-final rounds. After a 3-2 victory against Egypt, China made it to the semi-finals whereas Azerbaijan, Austria, and Korea earned their spots on the semi-finals by beating Sweden, Italy, and Belgium respectively. On the semi-finals, Azerbaijan faced China to take the victory again (3-1) and Austria set its path to the final round by securing a win over Korea (3-2). The match for 3rdplace was also played afterward, resulting China as the 3rd place of the game title.
As for League of Legends, the Philippines, Serbia, Korea, and Italy took the honor of going on to the semifinals. On the semifinal stage, Korea took the first ticket to the final by beating Italy with two straight winning streak. On the other side, Serbia and the Philippines forced each other to go on to the 3rd round of the match. Eventually the Philippines won after a very tight match.
Counter Strike: Global Offensive also started the day off with some left group preliminary games, resulting Serbia, Thailand, Finland, Russia, Korea, Indonesia, China, and Australia on the quarter finals. From the quarter finals, Thailand, Finland, Korea, and China made their ways to the semifinals. Finland, winning two sets in a row against Thailand, got one ticket to the final match while China, after beating Korea through very tough matches, joined Finland on the final match.
All the remaining matches of finals and the 3rd place matches will be played on the very last day of the event, which is the 9th of October, at the Ancol Beach City Auditorium and all the finals will be broadcasted on live.
